Double Mega Firepower!
what's actually worth your time / candy
Get ready for a double dose of Mega power! Mega Charizard X and Mega Charizard Y are back in Mega Raids from October 21st to October 27th, 2026. This is your chance to collect Mega Energy for these powerful mons and potentially catch a perfect Charizard.
Mega Charizard Y stands out as a top-tier Fire-type attacker. To maximize its potential, ensure it has Blast Burn, a legacy move obtainable via an Elite Charged TM. However, trainers should be aware that a 'Blast Burn+' move has been announced for the future, which may eventually surpass the Elite TM version. Consider this before committing your rare Elite TMs.
While often overshadowed by its Y counterpart for Fire damage, Mega Charizard X offers a unique Dragon/Fire typing, making it a strong Dragon-type attacker. It's a valuable addition to any trainer's roster, especially for those looking to diversify their Mega options.
Rock is the one type that hits both. Mega Charizard Y (Fire/Flying) is *doubly weak (2.56x)* to Rock and also weak to Water and Electric. Mega Charizard X (Fire/Dragon) takes 1.6x from Rock, Ground and Dragon, and resists Electric. Shadow Rhyperior, Mega Diancie, Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Tyranitar are your top picks against both. Against Y, Primal Kyogre and Zekrom also work; against X, Groudon and Dragon attackers do.
A perfect IV Charizard caught from a raid will be 1651 CP, or 2064 CP if weather-boosted. While not top-tier in PvP, Charizard holds ranks GL #200, UL #105, and ML #184. Prioritize catching a high IV one for Mega Evolution to enhance your raid teams. Use Hundo Hunter to find the perfect one fast!
Don't waste your time on low IV mons. Use Hundo Hunter to quickly scan and identify the best Charizard to invest your precious Mega Energy and candy into. Focus on high Attack IVs for raid performance. Find your perfect Mega Charizard!
