Mega Evolution guide
Mega Evolution is a per-mon temporary power state. Costs Mega Energy, lasts 8 hours, and gives a damage boost to the whole team in raids — including any same-type teammate. Higher Mega Level reduces the cost and adds candy bonuses on top.
The very first Mega for a given species costs 200 Energy. Every subsequent Mega is cheaper, scaling down to 40 Energy at Super Max. Cooldowns scale with it.
| State | Energy | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First-ever Mega | 200 | One-time per species. After this the recurring cost applies. |
| Recurring · Base level | 100 | 7-day cooldown between recurring Megas. |
| Recurring · High level | 80 | 5-day cooldown. |
| Recurring · Max level | 60 | 3-day cooldown. |
| Recurring · Super Max level | 40 | 1-day cooldown · most efficient state. |

The Mega Level is per species, not per individual mon. Once a species hits Super Max, every Mega Evolution of that species inherits the lower cost and faster cooldown.
Each Mega Raid win drops 35–50 Mega Energy of that species. Damage contribution + first-time bonus + friendship boosts the drop. Solo or duo friendlier-tier Megas to grind energy fast.
A buddy of the same species earns Mega Energy while walking — typically 5 km per pulse. Slow but free. Works while raid-energy is gated.
Some monthly task lines reward Mega Energy. Check{ }/research to see what drops this month.
Some Premium pass milestones include Mega Energy. Niche but works if you're grinding battles anyway.
When you Mega Evolve in a raid, the whole lobby gets the attack-bonus aura. +10 % to all attacks, +30 % to attacks of the Mega's type. This is one of the biggest force-multipliers in high-tier raids — coordinate one Mega per lobby.
Active Mega gives all your catches of the same type +1 base candy at Base Level, scaling with Mega Level. Great for grinding rare candy in otherwise stale boxes.
Both medals just track your activity — they don't add to the damage bonus or cooldown reduction. The actual gameplay impact comes from the per-species Mega Level. See /medals →
Whatever Mega is in raid rotation right now, see the full list + CP / weather / shiny status on /raids →. Cycle through this for cheaper repeat-Mega energy.
