how-to guides
Step-by-step procedures for every common task in-game. Each guide has a numbered procedure (Google indexes as step-by-step rich results), tips + gotchas, and links to relevant Hundo Hunter tools.
To get shiny Pokémon, tap every spawn you see — shinies have a fixed ~1-in-500 roll per encounter. Boost the odds during Community Day (~1-in-25), Spotlight Hour (~1-in-125), or themed events.
To find a hundo, check every catch via the in-game appraisal system (red bars = 15 IV). Best methods: raid catches (1-in-216), Friend trades during Lucky events (~1-in-30), or wild catches with a Hundo Spotter notification tool.
Enter your mons's CP, HP, and stardust cost into the IV calculator. The calculator solves the CP formula backwards and returns every possible IV combination that matches — usually 1-2 candidates per catch.
To increase hundo odds dramatically: hunt during weather boost (L25 floor), trade for the Lucky bonus (12+ floor), use 10 km eggs (L20 floor + IV boost), and run Hundo Hunter's live OCR scanner so no hundo slips by during a fast catch session. Stacked correctly, 7 high-quality catches can yield a hundo.
To beat a raid boss, use mons that hit it super-effectively (×1.6) and resist its attacks (×0.625). Hundo Hunter's raid counter pages rank the top 12 attackers per boss by total damage output × bulk.
During Community Day: spam catches with Pinap Berries for 4× candy, use a Star Piece for 3× Stardust, evolve to learn the exclusive move during the 5-hour window, and hunt the boosted 1-in-25 shinies.
To Mega-evolve, earn species-specific Mega Energy from Mega Raids, buddy walks, or Special Research. Each Mega lasts 8 hours and boosts all matching-type teammates by +10% damage in normal battles, +30% in raids.
To find your best Master League team, filter Hundo Hunter's tier list to ML, power up your top 3 picks to L50, Best Buddy them for +1 effective level, and iterate based on Go Battle League win-rate. Most ML teams revolve around a Steel-typed lead, a Dragon closer, and a Fairy or Ground safe-switch.
Each Rocket grunt opens with a phrase that reveals their type. Look up the phrase on Hundo Hunter's /rocket page, prep three counters of the right matchup, switch in your safe-switch after their first mons faints, and save Shields for the boss line (Sierra / Arlo / Cliff / Giovanni).
The fastest ways to earn Stardust are Spotlight Hour 2× Stardust events (with a Star Piece, ~6 000 dust per 30-min session), raid completions (1 000 per catch), and Field Research daily breakthrough (2 000-5 000 dust).
Only power up mons you plan to use in raids or PvP — not every catch. Save Stardust for hundos / functional hundos in your target role, and never max a mons without checking the CP cap of your target league first.
Stack a Lucky Egg + Curveball + Excellent throws + a catch combo for 4-6× XP per catch. Mass-evolve 60+ Pidgey / Caterpie / Weedle with a Lucky Egg for 30 000+ XP in 30 minutes.
To get a gym at your house, nominate enough PokéStops in the same large S2 cell to trip the gym threshold: 2 stops = 1 gym, 6 stops = 2 gyms, 20 stops = 3 gyms. Use the IITC mobile app to map S2 cells, then nominate Wayfarer-eligible candidates until one of your local stops upgrades to a gym.
Eevee has 8 evolutions. Use the one-time name trick for guaranteed Vaporeon (Rainer), Jolteon (Sparky), Flareon (Pyro), Espeon (Sakura), Umbreon (Tamao), Leafeon (Linnea), Glaceon (Rea), or Sylveon (Kira). After the name trick, use the buddy / lure / move method per evolution.
