Eevee evolution guide
Eevee has 8 evolutions in Pokémon GO — the most of any species. Each requires a different method: name tricks (one-time), buddy walks, lure modules, day/night timing, or heart farming. This guide covers every one.
Each Eevee has 8 possible evolution paths. You can use the name trick once per evolution per account (one Vaporeon, one Jolteon, etc.), but subsequent evolutions need the actual mechanic — buddy walk for Espeon/Umbreon/Sylveon, lure module for Leafeon/Glaceon, or you get a random Gen 1 trio (Vaporeon/Jolteon/Flareon).
All evolutions cost 25 Eevee Candy regardless of method. The hard part is targeting the right outcome, not the candy cost.

Earn 70 Eevee buddy hearts. Set Eevee as buddy, then evolve.
Set Eevee as your buddy, earn 70 hearts total (feeding berries, walking, playing, snapshots, raiding together). Then evolve while it's still your active buddy. With max 20 hearts/day, this takes ~4 days of daily activity.

How do I evolve Eevee into Umbreon without the name trick?
Set Eevee as your buddy. Walk 10 km with it (tracked via Adventure Sync). Then make sure Eevee is your active buddy and evolve during in-game night time. The 10 km can include walks done before — what matters is that 10 km is logged while Eevee is the active buddy.
How do I get Sylveon in Pokémon GO?
