Every species has its own candy. Catches yield 3 candy (5 with Pinap, 6 with Silver Pinap, 12 with Pinap + raid bonus). Evolutions and trades grant +1 candy. Transferring a mon yields +1 candy of that species.
Walking with a Buddy gives 1 candy per buddy-km (varies 1-20km by species). XL Candy is the rarer cousin used past L40 — 1 in ~50 catches roll an XL.
Power-up costs scale 1-10 candy per step up to L40, then jump to XL Candy at L41+. Second-move unlock costs 25-100 candy depending on rarity.
