01 · FULL EXPLANATION

STAB stands for Same-Type Attack Bonus. When a move's type matches one of the mons' types, the move deals 20% more damage. A Charizard using Flamethrower (Fire) gets STAB; a Charizard using Dragon Claw does not.

STAB stacks with weather boost (1.2×), Mega type boost (1.1-1.3×), Shadow modifier (1.2×), and friendship damage bonus. Stacking all bonuses can push raid damage 100% above unboosted baseline.

Picking a STAB moveset is the first move-selection rule — non-STAB movesets are almost always wrong for raids, with a few coverage exceptions.

EX · IN-CONTEXT EXAMPLES
EXAMPLE 1

Charizard Flamethrower (Fire) gets +20% STAB. Charizard Dragon Claw (Dragon) does NOT.

EXAMPLE 2

STAB stacks with weather (+20%), Mega (+10-30%), Shadow (+20%), and Best Buddy bonuses.
