What's your Showcase score?
The actual Niantic scoring formula — reverse-engineered by the community. Type your mons's height + weight from the in-game About tab and get a precise number out of 1178 (the 'thousando' max). Trophy, keep, or trade — no guesswork.
From the in-game About tab. Base for this species: 0.70 m / 6.9 kg · xx-class 1.75 · XXL ≥ 1.05 m
Enter your mons’ height + weight to see the score.
The formula
score = 800·(h / h-avg / xx-class)Per-species
+ 150·(w / w-avg / (0.5 + xx-class))
+ 50·(iv / 45)
+ 178 if XXLxx-class is one of 1.55 / 1.75 / 2.00 — it normalises the per-species ceiling so the same 1178 cap applies to every mons.
Why the +178 XXL bonus exists
Without the bonus, a perfect XL could outrank a borderline XXL (which would feel wrong since the in-game badge IS XXL). The +178 closes the gap so EVERY XXL outranks every non-XXL of the same species. That's why "any XXL" is worth keeping — the bonus alone gives ~15 % of the cap.
What "thousando" means
A 1170 + score — within 8 points of the absolute 1178 cap. Requires (a) XXL badge, (b) within ~1 % of the species' max possible height, (c) within ~1 % of max weight, and (d) ideally hundo IVs. Roughly 1-in-10 000 for the typical species — true trophy material.

Tag every XXL with a separate tag so you don’t mass- transfer them. Scout your local PokéStops for low-population ones — that’s where mid-tier XXL still wins. The full tactics live on the Showcases pillar page.
