Cooperative boss battles at gyms. 1★ to 5★ tiers + Mega + Elite. Drop rare candy, TMs, and a guaranteed catch encounter.
Raids spawn at gyms multiple times per day. Tiers: 1★ (easy solo), 3★ (hard solo), 5★ (legendary, group required), Mega, and Elite. Tier determines the boss CP, the difficulty, and the rewards.
Defeating a raid drops Premier Balls (typically 5-15 depending on damage + bonuses), Rare Candy (chance-based), TMs, and a guaranteed encounter with the boss. The catch CP at L20 (standard) or L25 (weather-boosted) tells you whether your IVs are hundo.
Raid passes: 1 free per day from a gym spin, plus paid Premium Battle Passes for additional raids. Remote Raid Passes let you raid from afar but cost more coins.
5★ raid catches roll IVs from 10/10/10 to 15/15/15 — that's 6³ = 216 possible combos, so hundo odds are 1 / 216.
Weather-boosted 5★ raid catches at L25: hundo CP varies by species (e.g. boosted Mewtwo hundo = 2294 CP).

Is Raid the same as in the main-series mons games?
Mostly yes — but the game has unique mechanics around catching, raids, and PvP that change how Raid works compared to the main-series games. See the full explanation above for GO-specific details.
