Best Ghost-type attackers in-game (2026)
The best Ghost-type attackers are Mega Gengar, Shadow Chandelure, Giratina-Origin, Mega Banette, and Shadow Gengar. All carry Shadow Ball or Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball.
Ghost type is the universal answer to Psychic raids (Mewtwo, Lugia, Tapu Lele) and Ghost-on-Ghost mirrors (Giratina raids). It's also resisted by Dark, so the matchup matters.
Mega Gengar holds the top spot by a wide margin. Shadow Ball Mewtwo also qualifies as a top Ghost attacker thanks to its move pool, but its main-type is Psychic — included separately when relevant.
- MAX CP 3,292GhostPoison
Highest Ghost-type DPS in the game. Mega bonus + Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball = top raid output.
MOVESET Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball - MAX CP 3,739GhostFire
Shadow buff + Ghost/Fire dual STAB lets it pivot between Ghost and Fire raids. Shadow Ball is the meta charged move.
MOVESET Hex + Shadow Ball - MAX CP 3,866GhostDragon
Ghost/Dragon attacker with Shadow Ball + Dragon Pulse coverage. Bulkier than Gengar — great for raid teams that prioritize survival.
MOVESET Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball - MAX CP 2,630Ghost
Mega slot for pure Ghost typing. Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball outputs strong raid damage.
MOVESET Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball - MAX CP 3,292GhostPoison
Shadow + Gengar move pool = competitive with Mega Gengar per-attacker. Glass cannon, so cycle frequently.
MOVESET Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball - MAX CP 3,646Psychic
Psychic main, but Shadow Ball Mewtwo is a top-3 Ghost attacker. The TM cost is worth it if you already have a hundo Shadow Mewtwo.

Without the Shadow buff, still a top-tier Ghost attacker. Reliable, available outside events.
MOVESET Hex + Shadow Ball - #8GengarMAX CP 3,292GhostPoison
F2P-friendly Ghost attacker. Shadow Claw + Shadow Ball moveset is the meta.
