Best Water-type attackers in-game (2026)
The best Water-type attackers in-game are Primal Kyogre, Kyogre, Mega Blastoise, Origin Palkia, and Shadow Suicune.
Water counters the Fire / Ground / Rock raid trifecta — among the most common raid boss types. Fire raids (Heatran, Reshiram, Mega Charizard) and Ground raids (Groudon, Garchomp, Excadrill) are constant.
The list below is built on raid DPS × bulk × moveset score. Top picks are legendaries, but free-to-play Water attackers (Swampert, Gyarados) sit just outside top 5 and are reliable backups.
- MAX CP 4,708Water
Primal bonus + 270 attack base + Origin Pulse = top Water DPS in the game. The single strongest attacker against Groudon raids.
MOVESET Waterfall + Origin Pulse - #2KyogreMAX CP 4,708Water
Without Primal, regular Kyogre still leads the non-Mega Water attacker list. Surf is faster than Origin Pulse for energy generation.
MOVESET Waterfall + Surf - MAX CP 2,821Water
Mega bonus + Hydro Cannon = top Water Mega. Use this as your Mega slot for any Fire raid.
MOVESET Water Gun + Hydro Cannon - MAX CP 4,565WaterDragon
Dragon/Water dual STAB makes this competitive against Dragon raids too. Hydro Cannon is its standout move.
MOVESET Dragon Tail + Hydro Cannon - MAX CP 3,412Water
Shadow buff + bulky Water attacker. Hydro Pump is high-damage but slower energy than Hydro Cannon Megas.
MOVESET Snarl + Hydro Pump - MAX CP 3,438Water
Newer Mega with strong stats. Surf is energy-efficient. Comes online during themed events.
MOVESET Waterfall + Surf - MAX CP 3,563Water
Shadow Eevee day product — surprisingly competitive with Mega Blastoise. Hydro Pump nuke closes raids quickly.
MOVESET Water Gun + Hydro Pump - #8SwampertMAX CP 3,402WaterGround
Top free-to-play Water attacker. Hydro Cannon + Water/Ground typing handles Fire raid bosses without taking SE damage from their charged moves.
MOVESET Water Gun + Hydro Cannon
