Catch Cup is the "fresh start" format — every entry must have been caught after a season-specific cutoff date. The cutoff is usually announced 1-2 weeks before the format opens, giving the community time to grind.
Because trades and ancient Vault picks are excluded, Catch Cup heavily rewards players who actively catch during seasonal events. The meta resembles Great League but with no XL Candy floor on most picks.
