PvP Cup tier list
Every themed Battle League cup the game rotates — Master Premier Classic, Holiday Cup, Element Cup, Kingdom Cup, Spring Cup, and the full lineup. Each entry has its own rules, CP cap, meta picks, and anti-meta surprises, reviewed each season.
CP ≤ 1500 themed formats — by far the most common PvP rotation.
Holiday Cup restricts entries to Normal, Ice, Fairy, Flying, and Ghost types at 1500 CP. Galarian Stunfisk, Drifblim, Wigglytuff, and Froslass headline the festive meta.
Spring Cup restricts entries to Grass, Fairy, Electric, Bug, and Poison types at 1500 CP. Venusaur, Galvantula, Wigglytuff, and Roserade headline the bloom-season meta.
Love Cup restricts entries to red or pink mons at 1500 CP. Medicham, Alolan Marowak, Charizard, Wigglytuff, and Azumarill define the Valentine meta.
Catch Cup restricts entries to mons caught after a published date at 1500 CP. The format rotates with each season — recent fresh-catches must form your team.
Kingdom Cup restricts entries to Fairy, Dragon, and Steel types at 1500 CP. Dragonair, Skarmory, Wigglytuff, and Galarian Stunfisk define the regal meta.
Devon Cup restricts entries to Bug, Steel, Rock, Ground, and Electric types at 1500 CP. Magnezone, Excadrill, Lanturn, and Tinkaton headline the engineer meta.
Retro Cup excludes Dark, Steel, and Fairy types — only Gen 1-style coverage at 1500 CP. Charizard, Lapras, Jellicent, and Venusaur define the throwback meta.
Single Type Cup restricts every entry to one specified type at 1500 CP. The featured type rotates each rerun — Water, Fire, Psychic, and Dark are the most common picks.
Sunshine Cup restricts entries to Fire, Grass, Ground, Normal, and Electric types at 1500 CP. Diggersby, Venusaur, Charizard, and Galvantula rule the summer meta.
Twilight Cup restricts entries to Ghost, Dark, Fairy, Psychic, and Poison types at 1500 CP. Sableye, Trevenant, Wigglytuff, and Drapion headline the dusk meta.
Mountain Cup restricts entries to Rock, Ground, Steel, Fighting, and Flying types at 1500 CP. Skarmory, Galarian Stunfisk, Toxicroak, and Diggersby define the highland meta.
Color Cup restricts entries to one published color (Green, Yellow, Blue, etc.) at 1500 CP. Each rerun changes the featured color and produces a new oddball meta.
Element Cup and other tightly-capped formats with unusual eligibility rules.
No CP cap. XL Candy investment to Level 50 matters.
