Mountain Cup is the elevation-themed format — Rock + Ground + Steel + Fighting + Flying. With no Water, Fire, or Grass, the meta gets brutally physical, and Flying mons that resist Fighting damage tend to lead.
Skarmory is the format anchor. If you don't have a Sky Attack response in your back two, you lose the lead matchup more often than you win it.
- CP ≤ 1500.

- Dual-types qualify if one typing is on the allowed list.
Air Slash + Sky Attack + Brave Bird. Steel/Flying with double-resist to Fighting walls the lead slot.
Mud Shot + Rock Slide + Earthquake. Steel/Ground tanks Flying charges and counters fellow Steels.
Counter + Mud Bomb. Poison is off-list, but Fighting keeps it eligible. Surprise Mud Bomb on Steels.
Mud Shot + Earthquake + Fire Punch. Normal is off-list, but Ground keeps it eligible.
Fire Spin + Dragon Claw + Blast Burn. Fire is off-list — but Flying keeps it in. Surprise Fire/Flying lead nobody plans for.
Snarl + Aerial Ace + Foul Play. Dark is off-list, but Flying keeps it in. Walls Psychic-less metas easily.
