Evolution upgrades a mons to its next stage in exchange for species candy. Stage costs: 12-25 for simple (Pidgey → Pidgeot), 50-100 for mid (Charmander → Charmeleon → Charizard), 100-400 for pseudos and special cases.
Special triggers: walking 10 km as Buddy (Eevee → Sylveon), specific Lures (Magnezone, Probopass, Leafeon, Glaceon, Goodra), evolution items (Sun Stone, Metal Coat, Sinnoh Stone), trade evolutions (Kadabra → Alakazam: trade for 0 candy).
Each evolution awards 1000 XP (2000 under Lucky Egg). Re-evolving is permanent — mons can't de-evolve.
